The list of top careers for 2012 includes genetic counseling in number seven position - source - Daily Galaxy .

    1. Organic Food Industry
    2. Computational Biology
    3. Parallel Programming
    4. Data Technology
    5. Simulation Engineering
    6. Boomer Caregiver
    7. Genetic Counselling
      • Doctors will be able to test for dozens of genetic markers and predict when a person will likely experience a genetically based condition. With more tests and treatments available, genetic counselors will be needed to help individuals and families make decisions about genetic technologies as it applies to science and personal beliefs. Today, about 2,000 counselors are recognized by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in genetic counseling, critical thinking skills and communication skills.

        Salary: $58,000 to $64,000
    8. Brain Analysts
    9. Space Tourism
    10. Roboticist

These counselors are the introducing brokers that mediate between families and the geneticists who provide further services to the client.

The world of tomorrow seems incomparable to the world of yesterday that we are accustomed to.

Genetic manipulation along with DNA testing and gene splicing may be the greatest thing to come along since the dawn of humanity yet there are others who think that there is a dark side to these nanotechnological advancements.

This 13 part film from YouTube looks into the history of genetic studies through the observation of blood which the narrator calls the time machine. The biological evolution of humanity can only be truly understood through the study of genetics and that is done from a molecular and atomic level through DNa analysis.

The quest for this knowledge of who our ancestors were started earnestly in the 1950's with geneticists like Luca Cavalli-Sforza.

As the film goes on we find out that our geneticist narrator is a Darwinian who traces the roots of humanity to the apes and he does this by splicing a genetic marker on the Y chromosome of males where mutations would have occurred in the DNa sequence.

As the story goes on we find out that the fittest or most technologically advanced always survived above the weaker members of society. Even when technology was an spear head crafted from a bone.

Today the geneticists have mapped the entire genome of the human DNa chain and cloning is being used in several aspects of life to manipulate the natural element. But mostly it is a technology that is in the hands of the few and even if it shows great promise and maybe even miraculous healing powers in the near future, or even bring about the elusive answer to how to cure cancer or how to regenerate cells and tissues, the greater fear for the majority of humanity is that it may be more of a doomsday weapon for the masses than a great advancement in evolution.

The alternative to this scientific method of curing all that hails humanity is holistic health where the power of the mind combined with a return to naturopathy and healthy non-organic dieting is the greater good for all.

In the past nature would have been responsible for instilling the genetic markers or mutations into the evolutionary process. Today that responsibility is becoming the property of a few and growing number of brilliant scientific minds who have studied the time machine.

Intelligence is a very difficult thing to understand. Just a short time ago some of the most brilliant and "intelligent" financial minds were selling debt to the masses and now it seems that those who spent 30, 40, 50 years and more putting away a nest egg may be giving it back in a few short years, or even months.

    Intelligence.....!!!!
